Andrew Dunnett was appointed Director of the Vodafone Group Foundation in September 2006. Andrew was previously an adviser to the Sustainable Development unit at the UK Department of Trade and Industry with specific responsibility for the CSR Academy, the lead initiative of the DTI’s CSR program.

Andrew has fifteen years experience in corporate responsibility, community investment and public affairs, including advising organizations such as BTEC, the BBC, the Commission for Racial Equality, and Thames Water as a consultant. He also led a corporate community investment project in the City of London while Director of the St Ethelburga’s Foundation.

Melanie is the Founder and CEO of Mobile Metrix, a market research and distribution company serving the “base of the pyramid.” Her experience spans both the private and public sectors: She worked in management for J.P. Morgan, International Data Group (IDG) and as an executive of Key Accounts at AT&T. Melanie launched the Global Technology Corps, a “digital Peace Corps,” with the U.S. Department of State during the Clinton Administration and co-created the United Nations Information Technology Service (UNITeS). She is a Return Peace Corps Volunteer from Togo, Africa, a Reuters Digital Vision Fellow at Stanford University and a Fellow of Echoing Green, Rainer Arnhold and PopTech. Melanie is currently Director and Lecturer of Social Entrepreneurship at Stanford University.

Bill serves on the Board of Advisors for Good Technology, recently acquired by VISTO®, the world’s leading provider of push mobility solutions.

Mr. Keever retired from Vodafone Group PLC in June of 2003 as Chief Executive Officer of the Asia Region. This retirement culminated a 38-year career in telecommunications. Bill served in a variety of management and executive positions with Pacific Bell, Pac Tel, AirTouch and Vodafone. He and his family lived nearly the entire decade of the ‘90s in Europe with Pac Tel and AirTouch. He became President of AirTouch International in 1998.

Bill and his family relocated to Yountville in the Napa Valley shortly after returning to the US. They have founded Keever Vineyards, LLC which is a small, super premium Cabernet Sauvignon producer. Keever Vineyards opened its winery in the summer of 2006. Bill serves as President of Keever Vineyards, LLC.

Jane Wales is the President & CEO of the World Affairs Council of Northern California and the Global Philanthropy Forum; Vice President, Philanthropy and Society and Director of the Program on Philanthropy & Social Innovation at the Aspen Institute; Working Group Chair for the poverty alleviation track at the Clinton Global Initiative; and host of the nationally-syndicated weekly National Public Radio interview show “It’s Your World.” From July 2007 to July 2008 Jane served as Acting CEO of The Elders, chaired by Archbishop Desmond Tutu.

Previously, Jane served in the Clinton Administration as Special Assistant to the President, Senior Director of the National Security Council and Associate Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. She chaired the international security programs at the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the W. Alton Jones Foundation, and directed the Project on World Security at the Rockefeller Brothers Fund. During her tenure as National Executive Director, the Physicians for Social Responsibility shared in the Nobel Peace Prize.

Michael Walker is the Group Research and Development Director for the Vodafone Group of companies, with the responsibility for the Group’s research activities, intellectual property and technology standards worldwide. He also leads technology innovation and manages engagement with start-up companies. He is a member of the board of Vodafone Ventures, the venture capital arm of the company. Michael holds the Vodafone Chair in Telecommunications at Royal Holloway, University of London, as a part-time professor, is a visiting professor at the University of Surrey, and is Vice Chairman of the mobile VCE—a group of universities and industries researching mobile communications. He sits on scientific advisory boards for the Universities of Warwick and Surrey, and some start-up companies, and was a member of the UK Technology Strategy Board. Michael is Chairman of the Board of the European Standards Institute. Before joining Vodafone, Michael was Head of Mathematics at Racal Research, and prior to that an academic at the University of Tuebingen in Germany. Michael is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and a member of Council of the Academy.
